What’s Your Furnace Doing?
Tell us what’s happening. We’ll call you back, talk through the likely cause, and book a visit that suits you.
We Fix What Others Replace
Most people who call us have already been told they need a whole new system. Often, they don’t. Here’s how we work.
Repair before replace
A failed capacitor, a dirty coil, a low charge or a faulty sensor are repairs — not reasons to buy a new system. We fix the fault in front of us, and we only raise replacement when the numbers genuinely stop making sense for you.
A quote before we touch anything
We diagnose the problem, explain it in plain language, and give you the price. You decide what happens next. No work starts, and nothing gets added to your bill, without your say-so — and the repair is quoted separately, once we actually know what’s wrong.
No pressure, ever
Nobody on our team works on commission-driven upsells. If your system has years left in it, we’ll tell you. If it’s genuinely at end of life, we’ll show you why — then leave you to think about it.

Sound Familiar? We See These Every Winter
Most Tri-Cities furnace faults come down to a handful of causes. Tell us the symptom and we’ll usually have a good idea before we arrive.
No heat at all
Thermostat calling but nothing happens — often a failed ignitor, a tripped limit switch, a control board or a flame sensor.
Blowing cold air
The blower runs but the air is cold. Usually the burners aren’t lighting, or the furnace is locking out on a safety.
Won’t ignite — clicks, then stops
You hear it try three times and give up. Classic dirty flame sensor or a worn hot-surface ignitor — both are cheap repairs.
Short-cycling
On and off every few minutes. Overheating, a blocked filter, a bad limit switch or an oversized furnace fighting itself.
Banging or booming on startup
A delayed ignition — gas building up before it lights. It’s hard on the heat exchanger and worth looking at quickly.
Blower won’t shut off
Running non-stop long after the burners cut out — usually a fan limit switch or a thermostat wired to “on” instead of “auto”.
Yellow or flickering flame
A healthy gas flame is crisp and blue. Yellow, lazy or flickering means incomplete combustion — get it looked at.
Gas bill climbing
Same house, same weather, bigger bill. Usually a furnace losing efficiency — often fixable with a service rather than a replacement.
Furnace Service & Tune-Up Specials
One price, whatever we find. $119 + tax gets a Red Seal technician to your door. If your furnace is fine, that’s a full tune-up. If we find a fault, we’ll tell you before we switch — the visit becomes a diagnostic at the same starting price.
Heating Tune-Up
$119 + tax
FortisBC offers a $50 rebate on qualifying heating tune-ups. Eligibility is set by FortisBC, not by us — we’ll tell you whether your system and home qualify before you book.
Full inspection, clean and safety check before the cold sets in. Find a fault instead? We’ll say so before we switch — the $119 becomes your diagnostic.

This Is Our Actual Work
Not stock photos. These are real TAK jobs in local homes — the equipment we service and the standard we leave it at.
Three Steps. No Surprises.
You’ll know exactly what’s happening, what it costs, and what we recommend — before any tools come out of the van.
Tell us what’s wrong
Call us or send the form. We’ll ask a few quick questions about your system and the symptom, then book a visit that fits your schedule.
We diagnose and quote
A Red Seal certified technician tests the system properly, finds the actual fault, and explains it in plain language with a clear price. You decide whether we proceed.
We fix it — and clean up
Most repairs are completed on the same visit. We test the system with you, show you what changed, and leave your home the way we found it.
Meet Tony — Owner, and Still on the Tools
TAK isn’t a call centre with a dispatch board. Tony Wong founded the company in Coquitlam in 2021 after learning the trade in Fort St. John, and he still runs jobs himself alongside his technicians.
That matters when you’re letting a stranger into your home. The person who quotes your repair is accountable for it — there’s no sales rep, no commission target, and no incentive to talk you into equipment you don’t need.

More Google reviews than any other Coquitlam HVAC contractor we could find — at a perfect score. Read a few and you’ll notice how many of them mention Tony by name.
“Most companies try to sell a brand new heating system rather than fix the problem. TAK Heating put their clients’ interest first.”

Takes about 30 seconds. We’ll call you back with the likely cause and get you booked in — then you decide.

The Questions Everyone Asks Us
The things people worry about before they pick up the phone — answered honestly.
Only if it’s genuinely true — and we’ll show you why. Our whole reputation is built on repairing systems other companies wanted to replace. Most furnace faults we see are ignitors, flame sensors, limit switches, pressure switches, capacitors or blower motors, and every one of those is a repair.
If your furnace really is at end of life — a cracked heat exchanger, for instance — we’ll explain the reasoning, give you the repair cost and a free estimate for replacement, and let you decide in your own time. No pressure and no same-day-only discounts.
$119 plus tax. That brings a Red Seal certified technician to your door, and it covers the visit whether your system turns out to need a tune-up or a diagnosis.
We check the system is running properly before we start a maintenance — so you’re never paying for a tune-up on a system that already has a fault. If we find one, we’ll tell you there and then that the visit becomes a diagnostic instead. Diagnostic time is billed by the hour, and troubleshooting is usually done inside that first hour.
Once we know what’s wrong we quote the repair, and you decide. The visit fee covers the technician’s time finding the fault — it’s separate from the price of the repair.
If the furnace genuinely needs replacing rather than repairing, the estimate for a new system is free.
Same-day service when we have availability — and the Tri-Cities are right on our doorstep. Our shop is on Roderick Avenue in Coquitlam, so Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody are all short runs for us.
In a cold snap we prioritise homes with young children, elderly residents or anyone with a medical need. Call us for the fastest answer on today’s availability — the phone gets you a real person rather than a queue.
Yes, and it’s the same $119. An annual service is a full inspection, clean and safety check: we test the ignition sequence, clean the burners and flame sensor, check the heat exchanger, verify gas pressure and combustion, test every safety switch and confirm the blower is moving the air it should.
You don’t have to work out which visit you need. $119 + tax gets a Red Seal technician to your door. If the furnace is fine, that’s your tune-up — and if your system qualifies, FortisBC’s $50 rebate brings the net cost down. If we find a fault, we’ll tell you before we switch — it becomes your diagnostic instead, at the same price.
It’s the same work that prevents most of the no-heat calls we get in January.
Very often, yes. Age alone doesn’t decide it — condition, the specific fault and the cost of the part do. A 20-year-old furnace with a $250 ignitor fault is absolutely worth repairing. The same furnace with a cracked heat exchanger usually isn’t, and we’d tell you so.
We’ll give you both numbers and the honest trade-off, including how much life the repair realistically buys you, so you can make the call with real information rather than a sales pitch.
Yes — all makes and models, regardless of age or who installed it. Our technicians work regularly with Mitsubishi, Daikin, American Standard, Continental, Tosot and Navien equipment, and we repair every other major brand as well.
We’re also happy to take on systems another company installed. You don’t need to go back to whoever put it in.
Yes. We carry out furnace inspections for property sales, insurance requests, landlords and buyers who simply want to know what they’re taking on before they commit.
You get a Red Seal certified technician going through the system properly — combustion, safeties, heat exchanger condition, venting and age — and a straight assessment of what you’ve actually got, including anything that will need attention soon.
A member of our team calls you back to ask a couple of quick questions about the furnace and the symptom, then books a visit at a time that suits you. That’s it — no automated sequences, no sales calls, and we never pass your details to anyone else.
If it’s urgent, calling 778-846-4822 is always faster than the form.
