What’s Your AC Doing?
Tell us what’s happening. We’ll call you back, talk through the likely cause, and book a visit that suits you.
We Fix What Others Replace
Most people who call us have already been told they need a whole new system. Often, they don’t. Here’s how we work.
Repair before replace
A failed capacitor, a dirty coil, a low charge or a faulty sensor are repairs — not reasons to buy a new system. We fix the fault in front of us, and we only raise replacement when the numbers genuinely stop making sense for you.
A quote before we touch anything
We diagnose the problem, explain it in plain language, and give you the price. You decide what happens next. No work starts, and nothing gets added to your bill, without your say-so — and the repair is quoted separately, once we actually know what’s wrong.
No pressure, ever
Nobody on our team works on commission-driven upsells. If your system has years left in it, we’ll tell you. If it’s genuinely at end of life, we’ll show you why — then leave you to think about it.

Sound Familiar? We See These Every Week
Most Tri-Cities AC faults fall into a handful of causes. Tell us the symptom and we’ll usually have a good idea before we arrive.
Blowing warm air
Running but not cooling — often a low refrigerant charge, a failed capacitor or a compressor issue.
Weak airflow
Barely a breeze from the vents — usually a clogged filter, a dirty blower wheel or a duct problem.
Rattling, buzzing or grinding
New noises usually mean a failing fan motor, a loose blade or worn bearings. Worth catching early.
Iced-up lines or coil
Frost on the refrigerant line points to airflow restriction or low charge. Running it that way causes damage.
Water pooling or leaking
Usually a blocked condensate drain. Left alone it can damage drywall, flooring and the unit itself.
Short-cycling
Turning on and off every few minutes — an oversized system, a sensor fault or a refrigerant problem.
Won’t start at all
Dead at the thermostat — could be a breaker, a control board, wiring or a failed contactor.
Heat pump not cooling
Common on BC systems installed since 2021 — often a reversing valve, sensor or charge issue, not a write-off.
AC Service & Tune-Up Specials
One price, whatever we find. $119 + tax gets a Red Seal technician to your door. If your system is fine, that’s a full tune-up. If we find a fault, we’ll tell you before we switch — the visit becomes a diagnostic at the same starting price.
Air Conditioning Tune-Up
$119 + tax
Full system inspection, clean and performance check — before the next heatwave. Find a fault instead? We’ll say so before we switch — the $119 becomes your diagnostic.

This Is Our Actual Work
Not stock photos. These are real TAK jobs in local homes — the equipment we service and the standard we leave it at.
Three Steps. No Surprises.
You’ll know exactly what’s happening, what it costs, and what we recommend — before any tools come out of the van.
Tell us what’s wrong
Call us or send the form. We’ll ask a few quick questions about your system and the symptom, then book a visit that fits your schedule.
We diagnose and quote
A Red Seal certified technician tests the system properly, finds the actual fault, and explains it in plain language with a clear price. You decide whether we proceed.
We fix it — and clean up
Most repairs are completed on the same visit. We test the system with you, show you what changed, and leave your home the way we found it.
Meet Tony — Owner, and Still on the Tools
TAK isn’t a call centre with a dispatch board. Tony Wong founded the company in Coquitlam in 2021 after learning the trade in Fort St. John, and he still runs jobs himself alongside his technicians.
That matters when you’re letting a stranger into your home. The person who quotes your repair is accountable for it — there’s no sales rep, no commission target, and no incentive to talk you into equipment you don’t need.

Takes about 30 seconds. We’ll call you back with the likely cause and get you booked in — then you decide.

The Questions Everyone Asks Us
The things people worry about before they pick up the phone — answered honestly.
Only if it’s genuinely true — and we’ll show you why. Our whole reputation is built on repairing systems other companies wanted to replace. Most AC faults we see are capacitors, contactors, fan motors, sensors, drainage or refrigerant issues, and all of those are repairs.
If your system really is at end of life, we’ll explain the reasoning, give you the repair cost and a free estimate for replacement, and let you decide in your own time. No pressure and no same-day-only discounts.
$119 plus tax. That brings a Red Seal certified technician to your door, and it covers the visit whether your system turns out to need a tune-up or a diagnosis.
We check the system is running properly before we start a maintenance — so you’re never paying for a tune-up on a system that already has a fault. If we find one, we’ll tell you there and then that the visit becomes a diagnostic instead. Diagnostic time is billed by the hour, and troubleshooting is usually done inside that first hour.
Once we know what’s wrong we quote the repair, and you decide. The visit fee covers the technician’s time finding the fault — it’s separate from the price of the repair.
If the system genuinely needs replacing rather than repairing, the estimate for a new system is free — there’s no charge for quoting an installation.
Same-day service when we have availability — and the Tri-Cities are right on our doorstep. Our shop is on Roderick Avenue in Coquitlam, so Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody are all short runs for us.
During a heatwave we prioritise homes with young children, elderly residents or anyone with a medical need. Call us for the fastest answer on today’s availability — the phone gets you a real person rather than a queue.
Yes — and it’s the same $119 either way. A tune-up is a full inspection, clean and performance check: we test the refrigerant charge, clean the coil, check the capacitor and contactor, clear the condensate drain and confirm the system is running at the efficiency it should be.
You don’t have to work out which visit you need. $119 + tax gets a Red Seal technician to your door. If the system is fine, that’s your tune-up. If we find a fault, we’ll tell you before we switch — it becomes your diagnostic instead, at the same price.
It’s the same work that catches the faults behind most of the emergency calls we get in a heatwave: a weak capacitor, a dirty coil or a slow leak, found in spring instead of in August.
All of them. We service central ducted AC, single- and multi-zone ductless mini-splits, and every kind of heat pump — air-source, hybrid dual-fuel, ground-source and water-source.
Heat pumps are a big part of what we do. A large number of BC systems went in between 2021 and 2024, and those are now reaching the age where cooling-mode faults, reversing valves and sensors start showing up. We repair them rather than writing them off.
Very often, yes. Age alone doesn’t decide it — condition, the specific fault and the cost of the part do. A 15-year-old system with a $300 capacitor fault is worth repairing. The same system with a failed compressor usually isn’t.
We’ll give you both numbers and the honest trade-off, including how much life the repair realistically buys you, so you can make the call with real information rather than a sales pitch.
Yes — all makes and models, regardless of age or who installed it. Our technicians work regularly with Mitsubishi, Daikin, American Standard, Continental, Tosot and Navien equipment, and we repair every other major brand as well.
We’re also happy to take on systems another company installed. You don’t need to go back to whoever put it in.
We stand behind our work long after the job is done, and the manufacturer warranty on any part we fit is passed straight through to you. Ask us about the guarantee on your specific repair when we quote it — we’ll be clear about exactly what’s covered.
We’re fully licensed and insured, and Red Seal certified — the interprovincial standard for the trade.
A member of our team calls you back to ask a couple of quick questions about the system and the symptom, then books a visit at a time that suits you. That’s it — no automated sequences, no sales calls, and we never pass your details to anyone else.
If it’s urgent, calling 778-846-4822 is always faster than the form.
